  • Alpha Zeta Chi!

Last night I was activated and made a full member of Alpha Zeta Chi, Omega chapter of Central College.  The pledging process was a bit of a bitch and a half, but it was totally worth it.  They're actually a great group of people and the alums are cool as hell.  I'm happy, plain and simple.

  • School and Internet

I woke up this morning feeling like there was something I had forgotten to do; we all know that feeling.  I decided that there was something for Brit Lit that I had forgotten to do, so I asked a couple people if there was anything due.  Of course, there wasn't.  Do you ever have that feeling when you first wake up, or maybe half-way through a meal?  I hate it when that happens.

Then there's that inner debate as to whether or not I'm going to go to my other class today since we never have anything due in that class that we don't hand in on-line.  I still don't know whether I'm going or not.  We'll see how it goes.

Our computer at home isn't working very well; I think we got a virus when my mom was downloading a book from Oprah's website.  We having a guy I know at school come over today to see if he can fix it.  Since my Mom finally knows how to use the Internet and e-mail, she's actually missing being able to use those things.  Hahaha, now she knows how I feel... Oh well, at least I've finally got on-line in my dorm room.  I guess that that's a plus.

  • So I have a Christian Ethics class at 8am every Tuesday and Thursday, and I always tell myself: "OK, this time, I'm going to skip."  I never do.  It's an interesting class and, seeing as how it is taught by a minister, he does a very good job of not letting it turn into a Sunday school session.  It's about 6am right now and I have no idea why I'm up, but I'm going to go out at about 7:20 and have a cig.  I had pledging last night (activation is in just a couple weeks) and it was a whole lot of fun; I can't wait to make membership official because they really are a great bunch of people.  AZX is a co-ed fraternity that believes in diversity and accepting people for who they are.  I think I'll fit right in, seeing as I have so far.

One of my afternoon classes was canceled, so I'll just have the one with my adviser this afternoon.  He's a funny little fellow.  He thinks that the existence of a god is not impossible to prove, that it just hasn't been done yet.  Whatever.  If it ever is proven, I would like an e-mail explaining how it was done and that it was done without a doubt.  Either way, I enjoy his classes and his lectures, misguided as they may be.

I'm thinking about spending another semester abroad for the fall of 2009.  I'm not sure whether I want to go to England, Wales or the Netherlands.  What do you think?  All three of them teach their classes in English, so I won't have to learn another language and all of them have interesting cultures and whatnot.  I don't know.  I'll see how things go financially and logistically before I take any leaps in that direction.

About Me

  • I enjoy most forms of vice, and I don't intend to change that anytime soon. I'm an atheist and I don't appreciate conversion attempts, though I do enjoy the occasional argument from time to time and I do have quite a few theist friends. Just live and let live and we'll get along just fine.
